St. Petersburg Pest Control and Termite Treatment: Kill Them Without Leaving Home

Why St. Pete gets hit
The city incorporated in 1892 with about three hundred people in it. What went up over the next few decades is still standing, and Pinellas County now has the oldest housing stock of any large county in Florida, median build year 1977. Kenwood, Old Northeast, and Roser Park all beat that by half a century.
Drywood termites don't live in the ground. They live in the wood itself, so an old Craftsman with real framing gives them far more to work with than a block house from 2005. Down along Coffee Pot Bayou and the waterfront you get the other kind, subterranean, coming up out of the ground where the moisture is.
Before you tent it
Plenty of St. Pete homeowners call already assuming they need a tent. Tenting works, and on some houses I'll tell you it's the right answer. But when the tarps come off and you can go back in, so can the termites. The gas leaves with the tent and nothing is left in your wood.
We've done whole house tentless treatments since 2003. Borate soaks into the wood and stays. Nothing is known to take it back out. Your house keeps working against them after we drive off, and you never move out while we're doing it.

Roaches and ants
Palmetto bugs come in from outside, and the mature oaks and thick landscaping that make those old neighborhoods worth living in give them a shaded path right to your wall. German roaches are a longer project. Ghost, pharaoh, and fire ants each want something different.
Regular service puts a treated band around the house, roughly four to six feet of it, from a couple feet up the wall to a couple feet out on the ground. Mulch beds and shrubs get it too, since that's where things wait.
What it runs
Termite work is priced on square footage under roof, garage and porch included. Details of your particular house move the number, which is why I won't quote by phone. General pest depends on the house and what's growing against it.

On termite work: if the bugs come back, so do we. Retreat at no additional cost during your warranty year, and you can carry it for life.
On general pest control: one hundred percent happy or you don't pay a penny. Thirty days in and still seeing bugs, call me and we keep treating.
Here's the honest reason not to sit on it. A drywood colony takes about five years to get big enough to throw swarmers, the winged ones that leave and start new colonies somewhere else in your house. Once that starts, one colony becomes several, and several becomes dozens. Caught early it's a straightforward job. Caught late, I've seen it take years to track them all down. That's not a sales line. That's just how they work.
