Dunedin Pest Control and Termite Treatment: Stay In Your Home
Dunedin was settled in 1850 and incorporated in 1899, which made it the first town on Florida's Gulf coast between Key West and Cedar Key. Walk Highland Avenue or Scotland Street and you're walking past wood that's been standing a very long time.
Call 727-462-0400The inspection is free. We come out, look at what you've actually got, and tell you straight. If it turns out you don't have termites, we'll tell you that too, and you're out nothing.
Old town, old framing
The Orange Belt Railway came through in 1888. The depot that's now the Dunedin History Museum was built in 1924. That rail bed is the Pinellas Trail today, and the houses on either side of it go back generations.
Pinellas County's median house was built in 1977. Downtown Dunedin makes 1977 look new. Drywood termites live inside the wood rather than under it, so old framing is simply more house to eat. Out toward the Causeway and St. Joseph Sound, the moisture brings the subterranean kind up from the ground instead.
You don't have to leave
The thing people hate about tenting isn't the cost. It's three days out, food bagged, pets boarded, and tarps over the landscaping they spent years on.
Tenting works and sometimes it's right. But nothing stays in the wood afterward. Our whole house tentless treatment, which we've been doing since 2003, puts borate into the wood where it stays, so the house keeps defending itself. You sleep at home every night of it.
Worth asking any company: whole house, or just the spot?
Roaches, ants, the rest
Downtown Dunedin has old trees and dense landscaping, which is exactly the cover palmetto bugs use to reach a wall. German roaches are their own long haul. Ants vary by species and get handled that way.
Regular service builds a treated band around the foundation, roughly four to six feet of it counting wall and ground, plus eaves, mulch beds, and shrubs.
What it runs
Termites price on square footage under roof, garage and porch counted. Your specific house moves the number, so I won't guess at it by phone. General pest depends on the property and what's around it.
The guarantees
On termite work: if the bugs come back, so do we. Retreat at no additional cost inside the warranty year, carryable for life.
On general pest control: one hundred percent happy or you don't pay a penny.
Here's the honest reason not to sit on it. A drywood colony takes about five years to get big enough to throw swarmers, the winged ones that leave and start new colonies somewhere else in your house. Once that starts, one colony becomes several, and several becomes dozens. Caught early it's a straightforward job. Caught late, I've seen it take years to track them all down. That's not a sales line. That's just how they work.
We're minutes down the road. Call and we'll come look. The look costs you nothing.
