Egypt Lake Termite Treatment: Stay In Your Home

Egypt Lake had seven and a half thousand people in 1970 and doubled by 1990. The houses that went up through that stretch, between Dale Mabry and Himes, north of the airport, are now old enough that termites have had plenty of time with them.

The inspection is free. A certified operator comes out, looks at what you've actually got, and tells you straight. If it turns out you don't have termites, we'll tell you that too, and you're out nothing.

Mid-century frame construction

Egypt Lake sits about seven miles northwest of downtown Tampa, bordered by Carrollwood to the north and Dale Mabry Highway to the west. It was its own census place from 1970 until 1990 before being folded into Egypt Lake-Leto, which now runs close to thirty seven thousand people.

Most of that housing went in during the fifties, sixties and seventies. Drywood termites live inside the wood itself, so what determines your exposure is how much lumber is in the structure and how many years it has been sitting there. Sixty-year-old frame construction qualifies.

Why tentless

Fumigation works and there are houses where I will recommend it. The limit is what happens after. The gas leaves when the tarps leave, and nothing is left protecting your wood from next spring's swarm.

We have done whole house tentless treatments since 2003. Borate soaks into the wood and stays there, nothing is known to pull it back out, and your framing keeps killing what tries to move in. Your family and your pets stay in the house the entire time.

Ask about coverage

Whole house or the spot you found. Most companies do the spot, which is cheaper because it is less work, and which leaves the rest of your framing exactly as it was.

The guarantee

If the bugs come back, so do we. You see something during your warranty year, you call, and we come back out and retreat at no additional cost. Keep it current and you can carry that for life.

Here's the honest reason not to sit on it. A drywood colony takes about five years to get big enough to throw swarmers, the winged ones that leave and start new colonies somewhere else in your house. Once that starts, one colony becomes several, and several becomes dozens. Caught early it's a straightforward job. Caught late, I've seen it take years to track them all down. That's not a sales line. That's just how they work.

Call and we will come look. The look costs you nothing.
