Hi, I’m Coby with Coby’s Tentless Termite and Pest Control, and I’m going to talk to you today about how driving termites get into your home. What most people don’t realize is that, unlike the ground termites, the subterranean termites that they have to come from, say, down here, from the ground, and they’ll come up to cracks and crevices and whatnot. That’s how they’ll get into your home. But in the in dry woods, they can get into just about anything. They’ll swarm every year, and they’ll swarm for, usually, for about a two month period of time, and during that time period, did the windows work your house, or the window away from your house? The answer is, they got into your home, and they’re going to continue to do this. That’s what they do. That’s a how they spread so they can get underneath siding. They can get in cracks in two pieces of wood, doors and windows, eaves, vents on the roof. I mean, they literally can get into just about anything. They only need is about a 32nd of an inch to go ahead and get in. So it doesn’t take a lot for them to to get into the home. The good news is, it takes a little bit of time for them to get started. Eating and going on. But the big thing is that if you live in a neighborhood that’s over 30 years old, and just drive through your neighborhood, if you’ve lived it for a long period of time, you’ll notice different changes. You’ll notice bigger trees, you’ll notice older fences, you’ll notice some houses are well taken care of, some of them are not which doesn’t have a whole lot of effect on termites. All these different things that you’re going to notice, well, you’re also going to start to notice that there’s going to be a increase in the amount of homes that you see that have tents over top of them, or are that are being fumigated. And they’re almost always getting fumigated for dry wood, termites. You can have bed bugs. They’re doing rodents, or some other things you can, you can Plato post beetles. But for all intents and purposes, what they’re doing is there they are going to be getting for dry wood termites, and as you start to see that, that’s an indication that your neighborhood is going to have more and more and more and more of these once you get into the older neighborhoods, South St, Pete, Largo, Tampa, even downtown Clearwater and Palm Harbor, all these older, older homes. And it’s not just the homes, it’s actually just the neighborhood itself. You got a brand new home and have an infestation, and just because you’re living in a place where there are lots and lots of termites, but all these locations, as you start to see that those those homes are when they were 3040, 5060, 7080, some of these neighborhoods are 100 years old. And all those trees and all those fences and all those homes just 1000s upon 1000s upon 1000s of termites in those areas, and so you’re going to have a problem. But you can watch in your own neighborhood, depending on which whereabouts you live in, Dallas or Hillsboro, Pasco, etc, you’ll see those things start to go on in your neighborhoods. And you may not even thought anything of it until recently, until I maybe I mentioned it. But once you have seen that, or once you’ve you’ve you’ve noticed that, start checking things out on your phone. And if you’re not sure, just give us a call. Anyway. I’m Coby with Coby’s Tentless Termite and Pest Control, let’s turn my pest control, or as long as God keeps making him, we’ll keep killing and if you have questions about this or anything, please give us a call so we can come out and and hopefully put your mind at ease.
