Coby here with Coby’s Tentless Termite and Pest Control. And at the time of this filming, it’s, it’s the day before Halloween, and this is a time in Florida, and I would imagine other other parts of the country as well, but it definitely in Florida, where we have the citrus rats, which are actually roof rats. There’s, they’re going to start migrating in as it gets a little bit cooler, they’re looking for place to nest, and they try to get out of the cold. So what this video is going to be about is, how do you prevent that from happening? And this is, this is going to save you at least $1,000 probably more, but at least $1,000 and so what’s the number one way? By far, the number one way for rodents to get into the home is if you look on the outside where your air conditioner is, and you have the tubes your air handlers in the garage or inside or maybe even up in the attic. Sometimes don’t do that very often anymore, but the cover, the covers over that will go ahead and be a runway for rodents to go to climb up that get in the attic, and then they start nesting in there, and that’s when they can either back situations you have to remove the insulation, because there’s so many species and urine and whatnot, and it’s just it’s a mess. So on the other part is, of course, chewing on wires is not something uncommon, so they can very well go ahead and do that, and ductwork and and everything else. So you definitely want to seal that up. Now, how do you do that? So there’s a couple different ways. Um, some people will go ahead and use steel wool, and steel wool has been a go to for many years, but what I found over the years is still steel will will rust, and if it rust and it falls right out eventually, so you’re thinking, you’re safe. You I did that years ago. I have to worry about it coming back. So what I like to do is I like to take the stainless steel pot scrubbers, you stretch them out, you put it up in there, and then you take some tape, and you’re going to take the bottom and the reason to do that is because the next step, you’re going to take a one of the foams. I mean, it could be the orange stuff, which is fire resistance. It could be the the yellow stuff, which is big gap, small gap. Now have white stuff, and if they have the black, which is professional grade, and that’s what you want, but you inject that up in there, and it now has a foam with metal inside of it, and it adheres to everything. And it probably will still blow that tape out just because of the expansion what it’s doing, but it will hold it in there long enough to cure that. This little bit of information right here is every homeowner in Clearwater, Pinellas County, Hillsborough County, you definitely want to do this. It’s going to save you least $1,000 so I would highly, highly make that recommendation to you guys the other places, depending on the age of your home, if you’re dealing with old, old homes that have the cast iron pipes in there, that is, they can come to the sewer lines. People don’t realize that. I know that in Dunedin, we’ve had a problem with that. St Peter’s had a problem with that. And I’ve got a couple plumbers that specialize in this type of thing, and they said it’s just happened forever. In fact, there’s a guy in Britain, Great Britain, that shows that, and that’s exactly how they get in. They have these, these that go through the sewer systems. Supposed to be closed loop system, but it doesn’t appear that it is. So those are the two ways that we hear the most of old homes would be the plumbing systems. New Homes can have that too, but it’s a lot less likely. I don’t see that very often, unless you’re bringing a new home in an old neighborhood, and then then I have seen that. So yeah, those are the things I’d recommend, especially right now, when we’re fixing to have the higher pressure of road is coming into homes, and that should that should knock things out for you pretty well. So hope you find that helpful. And if you have question about this or anything else, give us a call and on camera a bug flies in my mouth. You can’t write that into the script. Okay? Oh. Remember, as long as God keeps making them, we’ll keep killing them. Coby here with Coby’s Tentless Termite and Pest ControlYou have a great day.
