Bedbugs have made a dramatic comeback in major cities all across America in recent years. Much of this is due to in increase in international travel. Hence, your best chance of picking up bedbugs and introducing them into your home is by staying in a hotel room that is infested with them.
There are certain precautions you should take before staying in a hotel room. These include…
1.Ask the hotel management if they have regular bedbug inspections and control.
2. Inspect the beds in your room for signs of bedbugs, including small spots of dried blood and live bedbugs. These will be hiding in folds and seams along the edge of the mattress.
3. Look for signs of bedbugs behind pictures over the bed and in desk drawers near the bed.
If you think you have been exposed to bedbugs, it is a good idea to have your home inspected. If left unchecked, bedbugs can increase in alarming numbers and they become very difficult to control and eradicate.
Bedbugs bite you while you sleep and suck your blood. The bites are not painful and usually go unnoticed until small whelps or bumps appear, usually around the head, neck and shoulders.
