Termite Treatment Cost

Termite Treatment Cost

What does termite protection cost per year?

$395 a year for most homes. Mobile homes a little less. Big houses a little more.

That's the answer to the question you typed in. It's the second number though, not the first. You ought to have both in front of you before anybody quotes you anything.

The first number is the treatment

Our tentless termite treatment starts at $2.25 per square foot. That's gross square footage under roof, not just the part you heat and cool. Your garage counts. Your lanai under roof counts.

What moves it from there is the house itself. Frame or block. How much bare wood we can actually reach. Attic space, crawl space, how old it is and how it was put together. A 1920s bungalow and a 1990s block home are two different jobs at the same square footage.

Run the math on your own house and you'll be close. We'll give you the real number once we've seen the house.

What does the yearly cost actually cover?

Once your home is treated, the yearly renewal keeps the warranty in force. We come back and inspect the house once a year. But you don't have to wait on that inspection. See something in March when your inspection isn't until October? Call us. We come out and treat it, and there's no additional cost to you. It's covered either way, whether we found it or you did.

Here's the part most people never get told. Drywood termites don't live in one colony in the ground under your house. They live up in the wood, in separate colonies scattered all through a structure. We treat with a liquid, not a gas, so there can be a spot the first treatment didn't reach. That's why we have our guarantee.

Find it, take care of it. Find it, take care of it. If the bugs come back, so do we. The yearly renewal is what keeps that true.

Why we won't price your house over the phone

I could throw a number at you right now, but it'd be a guess. Then you'd be comparing my guess to somebody else's.

We treat the whole house. Every time. As much bare wood as we can reach, wherever we can reach it. That's why the price follows the house and not a room or a spot on a board.

So we come look. No charge, no obligation. You get the number and the reason for the number at the same time, standing in your own kitchen, where you can ask me why.

If you've gotten a tent quote

The tent number is the price of the fumigation. It isn't the price of getting fumigated.

Before you set the two side by side, add up the rest of it. Three nights somewhere. The pets boarded. Everything in the pantry that isn't sealed in glass or a can, bagged or thrown out. Every meal eaten out. Something for your family to do for three days. The time off work. The shrubs cut back off the house. Our free termite tenting checklist adds it all up for you as you type.

Do that arithmetic first, then compare. Sometimes tenting still comes out ahead, and when it does we'll tell you so. Fumigation works. There are homes where it's the right call and we say so. Fumigation just doesn't leave anything behind. The gas goes away, and the day you walk back in, so can the termites.

What waiting actually costs you

Not the price. We go by square footage under roof, so the number doesn't climb because you found a few more. What changes is the wood. Termites eat on their own schedule whether you've called anybody or not, and damage is the one part of this that doesn't come back. The treatment costs what it costs today or two years from now. The repairs are the part that gets more expensive.

What customers say

"From the initial phone call for information, to the consult and actual treatment of the house, everyone at Coby's has been nothing short of amazing. Top notch customer service from the owner, not a contractor, is so hard to find. I did not have to move out, there was no nasty odors and an automatic guarantee for retreating if termites come back! I would (and have) recommended Coby without hesitation!"

— Jennifer Jordan

"Great job at a great price! We noticed some termite signs in our home and called Coby. He showed up right on time and gave us an estimate of the cost of the work to be done. He gave the rest of the home a very thorough inspection and came back a few days later and took care of our termite problem. We couldn't be happier!"

— Al Leffler
