Pinellas County and Clearwater, How much damage do termites do?

Hi, I’m Coby with Coby’s Tentless Termite and Pest Control, and today we’re going to talk about how much damage can a termite actually do. Well, a termite not too much, but they’re colonies, and it’s been said that in Florida you can do with anything from about a quarter of a million termites on every square acre in Florida. Well, that’s colony. I mean, that’s big, but they can have many, many, many more, many more colonies, depending where it’s at, and they can also have many more than a quarter of a million in the colony. But the there’s an Asian, an Asian entomologist, and he said, who count? Who how? You know, who count? And so I’m not sure how they came up with the with the thing, but he made fun of it, who’s counting? I mean, really, but the damage, no matter how many they’re in there, the damage more has to do with how long they’ve been eating. Now, you can see this behind me. You can see it, yeah, you can see that. And that’s around a window frame and wouldn’t a wooden frame home, and they just devour that it’s gone. I mean, they use crumble it. It’s so small, it’s so gone, so much. But yeah, that can definitely go ahead and happen. And it can happen in eight months. Could happen in eight years. I mean, in this case, this wall’s pretty much gone. It’ll have to be rebuilt. If they’re stuck on the outside, either they have to be redone. It’s going to be a mess, an absolute mess. And so one of the things I’ve been hearing lately is, oh my gosh, you’re so expensive. It’s like, do you see this? I mean, you don’t, they don’t. If you’re if you have termites in your home, I pray to God, this is not what you’re seeing, okay, when you open up a wall contract or something like that, because you’re talking many, many, many 1000s of dollars with the damage, especially with today’s prices and how much things are, a lot of people found termite damage. When we just had the hurricane came through, and it flooded everything and and a lot of homes in the water were removing drywall, and they found just tons of termite damage. So not only did they have to fix the water damage, and they had to fix termite damage, but the termites could use just so much damage that they’re not taken care of properly, and so too much is expensive, but how much or do they eat? Man, this is, this is a nasty most people don’t take off their drywall to see what’s behind their or their or their What’s that plaster board? I just got a message from my storage saying, I need more storage. Um Sorry, I looked down. It’s a note that just came in but, but, yeah, this is, this is something that is, is definitely happening. They don’t take time off, they don’t stop. They don’t say, oh, it’s not termite season. Now you may not see them, and the most likely time that you could see them is the time that they would swarm. That would be when most people notice notice something. But if you’re doing a home improvement project, not a comment at all to see something like this. So that’s what I would definitely recommend having a professional come out, take a look, see what’s going on, see how they can best help you. Is it, in this case, subterranean termites? Is it dry wood termites? It really, really depends on, on where you’re at, and if you’re not in the state of Florida, California, and I know there’s a few other places too, but more than likely, it will be subterranean termite. It won’t be a dry winter termite, but the but the overall in Florida, we’ve gone from having almost exclusively the week, subtracting termite problems, or what felt to be subtracting termite problems, and now the driver, termite problems through side of control. We’ll talk about a little bit that more in the next next, in the next episode. So if you have a question about termite damage, or termite treatments, or anything like that. Just please give us a call. We’ll be happy to go ahead and get out and take a look for you. Say, we tell you what we can do to help. I’m Coby with Coby’s Tentless Termite and Pest Control, and always remember, as long as God keeps making them, we’ll keep killing them. So thanks. And you have a great day.
