Sixty-year-old houses are the sweet spot
Largo exported produce until the 1960s, then the population caught up and the subdivisions went in. That timing matters. Pinellas County's median build year is 1977 and Largo sits right on top of it, which means a huge share of the housing here is squarely in the range where drywood termites have had time to find it.
They live inside the wood rather than under the slab, so what counts is how much framing your house has and how long it's been standing. A 1968 wood-frame house has had plenty of time to get noticed. Out toward Ridgecrest and the Botanical Gardens side, the tree cover and irrigation keep the ground damp enough for subterranean termites too.
Tenting isn't automatic
Most people hear termites and think tent. It does work, and on some houses I'll tell you it's the right call.
But the gas leaves when the tarps do, and your wood is no better protected the day after than the day before. Whole house tentless work, which we've done since 2003, goes the other direction. Borate soaks into the wood and stays there, nothing is known to pull it out, and you don't have to go anywhere while we do it.

Roaches and ants
Palmetto bugs come in from outside and mulch beds against the wall make it easy. German roaches take a real cleanout and monthly visits. Ghost, pharaoh, and fire ants each get treated their own way.
Regular service puts a treated band roughly four to six feet wide around the foundation, plus eaves, beds, and shrubs.
What it runs
Termites go by square footage under roof, garage and porch counted. Your house moves the number, which is why I won't quote it by phone. General pest depends on the property.

On termite work: if the bugs come back, so do we. No additional cost inside the warranty year, carryable for life.
On general pest control: one hundred percent happy or you don't pay a penny.
Here's the honest reason not to sit on it. A drywood colony takes about five years to get big enough to throw swarmers, the winged ones that leave and start new colonies somewhere else in your house. Once that starts, one colony becomes several, and several becomes dozens. Caught early it's a straightforward job. Caught late, I've seen it take years to track them all down. That's not a sales line. That's just how they work.
