Oldsmar Pest Control and Termite Treatment: Kill Them Without Leaving Home
Ransom Olds bought thirty seven thousand acres at the top of the bay and had Boston engineers lay the town out like Washington DC, boulevards running down to the water. The streets were paved with oyster shells. That was 1916, and a few of those houses are still standing on Park Boulevard.
Call 727-462-0400The inspection is free. We come out, look at what you've actually got, and tell you straight. If it turns out you don't have termites, we'll tell you that too, and you're out nothing.
Two different Oldsmars, two different problems
After Olds left and the 1921 hurricane put water fourteen feet above normal, this place sat quiet for sixty years. The Gandy Bridge and then the Courtney Campbell Causeway routed traffic around it and Oldsmar stayed a backwater until the early eighties. Then it grew.
So you've got two housing stocks here that could not be more different. Around Park Boulevard and the old downtown there's original 1910s and 1920s construction, including the 1918 bank building that's the historical society now. Out in East Lake Woodlands and Quail Forest you're looking at houses from the eighties forward.
That matters, because drywood termites live inside the wood itself. A century-old frame house on Park Boulevard is a different conversation than a 1995 build out by the golf course. Which Oldsmar your house sits in changes what we're looking for when we get there.
The parks are the other half of it
Oldsmar has close to four hundred acres of parkland, more park space per mile than any city in Florida. Mobbly Bayou, R. E. Olds Park, Veterans Memorial, all of it. That's the reason to live here and it's also shade, standing moisture, and a lot of wood near houses.
Subterranean termites come up out of damp ground. Ten miles of bayfront and that much tree canopy is exactly the condition they want.
You don't have to tent it
Fumigation works. On a badly infested house I'll tell you to do it. But it kills what's in the structure that day and leaves nothing behind, so the wood is wide open again the next time they swarm.
We've done whole house tentless treatments since 2003. Borate soaks into the wood and stays there, nothing is known to take it back out, and the house keeps working against them long after we've gone. You stay in it the whole time.
Ask any company you call whether they're treating the whole house or just the spot you found. Most do the spot.
Roaches and ants
All that canopy and mulch gives palmetto bugs a short walk to your wall. German roaches need a cleanout on your end and monthly visits on ours. Ants sort out by species before anything else.
Regular service puts a treated band four to six feet wide around your foundation, counting wall and ground, plus the eaves, the beds, and the shrubs.
What it runs
Termite work prices on square footage under roof, garage and porch counted. Things about your particular house move that number, which is why I won't quote you over the phone. General pest depends on the property and what's growing against it.
The guarantees
On termite work: if the bugs come back, so do we. Retreat at no additional cost during your warranty year, and you can carry it for life.
On general pest control: one hundred percent happy or you don't pay a penny. Thirty days in and still seeing bugs, call me and we keep treating.
Here's the honest reason not to sit on it. A drywood colony takes about five years to get big enough to throw swarmers, the winged ones that leave and start new colonies somewhere else in your house. Once that starts, one colony becomes several, and several becomes dozens. Caught early it's a straightforward job. Caught late, I've seen it take years to track them all down. That's not a sales line. That's just how they work.
We're twenty minutes down the road. Call and we'll come look. The look costs you nothing.
Call 727-462-0400As long as GOD keeps making them, we'll keep killing them. You have a great day.
