Hi, I’m Coby with Coby’s Tentless Termite and Pest Contol, and today we’re just going to be talking about, you need to worry about termites in your home. You haven’t seen anything. You’ve lived in your home for 20 years. You’ve really never had a problem with termites. But should you really worry about them or not? Well, I don’t think you should ever have to worry about something, but I will say that you might want to watch for them. And the Tampa Bay area, we’re probably the number one, number two place in the country for dry wood and sub trading termites. We are just in this perfect condition, subtropical area, and we have tons and tons and tons of subterranean and dry wood termites for motion and tree termites and just on and on and on. The main ones are going to be your subterranean dry wood termites. And in years past, subterraneans were just a huge problem. We had so many 1000s and 1000s and 1000s of people who found termites in their homes. I’d say, prior to 2000 you still can have those in there, and it still happens, but it’s not as common as it once was. And some people say it’s the different products you’re using. Other people say that it’s just a cyclical cycle. Who knows. But the other one that that we are seeing more and more and more of is dry with your mics. And I think the main reason for that is, is that the each year when the termites swarm, they’re going to form new colonies, takes about five years for that colony that was formed to be able to sustain swarmers again. And that’s a perpetual thing, and it just doesn’t end. There’s no way to definitely treat your home, but there’s no way to go ahead and treat trees and fences and wood piles and those type of things. But when it comes to treating your home, there is a couple different ways. Of course, you can fumigate your home, put the poison gas inside. But if you’re able to put special products on the wood directly, and it penetrates into that wood, and then it stays there, we use three different products too, which lasts for over 15 years, and one last for over 30 years. In fact, nothing is known to take it out of the wood. It stays here once it is is in there. So if you’re in the tarpon, Tarpon Springs, Palm Harbor, Largo, wherever in the Tampa Bay area, you’re going to see a lot of this. It ends up the older definitely in the older homes, those beautiful old bug glows and really, really pretty gingerbread on the side of the homes and whatnot, and they all have trumpets in them. And so that is just something that we’re going to to continuously deal with and and, and you’re eventually going to deal with it. Hope they’re not, but eventually going to deal with it. And the only remedy is to go ahead and treat either fumigation, which unfortunately doesn’t last, and or put as in as much bare wood in a home as you can, and treat it all and let it penetrate into that I mean, the ACT crawl space, the walls, the windows, the doors, all around those areas where where any of that stuff’s had is wood at in a home. And if you treat in all those areas, then you have prevention. And that is going to go ahead and and really be the the thing where you don’t have to worry about termites that. So I would highly recommend, if nothing else, the largest area in your home to treat would be the attic, where most of the wood is that but, but realistically, the entire home. Anyhow. If you have a question about termites or anything else, please give us a call. We’d love to talk to you. 727-462-0400, I’m CCoby with Coby’s Tentless Termite and Pest Contol, and as long as God keeps making them, we’ll keep killing them, and you have a great day. Thanks.
